A continuing lack of bedspace

December 1st, 2009 § 0

Counties and States complain of not having enough bed-space in prisons. So programs have been developed to keep minor offenders from going to jail by diverting them to various programs to deal with drug addictions, etc. I do not know how well that works or how many people have been helped. It sounds like we still have a bed-space problem. If we released all but the worst offenders the world over to similar programs and rounded up all the politicians and bankers and corporate scoundrels who are stealing us blind we’d still not have enough bed-space.

Where Am I?
