Demonstrating Absurdity

May 27th, 2007 § 0

The daughter of a friend of mine is going to a school where her teacher assesses behaviour according to something like the terror alert system from Homeland Security. So some days she comes home purple (exceptionally good), green, yellow, orange, or red (needin’ a talkin’ to).

I have made the following modifications to the scale, which I think will allow the kids to learn more about color and not give them a subconscious link to the terrorists:

Sangria
Scarlet
Rust
Crimson
Alizarin

Vermillion
Pumpkin
International Orange
Tenné
Tangerine

Gamboge
Dark Goldenrod
Amber
Golden Poppy
Corn

Lime
Chartreuse
Emerald
Jungle Green
Jade

Pine
Cerulean
Cobalt
Royal Blue
Persian Indigo

Indigo
Violet
Violet Eggplant
Purple
Fuchsia
