I am wearing the acrylic cargo-style jogging pants. Walking in from the truck this afternoon I could tell it was cold but I didn’t really feel cold. These pants insulate so well that they keep the air around my legs heated well enough so I don’t notice the temperature outside. I am thinking of testing this theory next week after the holiday. I’ll take a walk around my 30min. lap course and see if I really feel chilly below the waist. I wore them this summer. I sweated a lot but it was okay. You have to wash them by themselves or with very little else because the acrylic fabric soaks up a couple gallons of water and will throw the washer off balance. I am sure that any stray cigarette butt will cause me to burst into flames but I am willing to take that risk. They were around $20 at Burlington Coat Factory.

Shoes
July 18th, 2007 § 0
For me, shoes are supposed to be a protective extension of my foot, not trays or boats to carry them in. As a result I try to keep them tied a bit more tightly than some folks. A couple of years ago I went to a certified pedorthist to look at a pair of shoes to deal with a problem I was having with my foot, which I ended up seeing a podiatrist about. He thought I needed a pair that were a size too wide for my foot to take care of what was wrong. So I have this pair of shoes here that I never wear because even thought I tie them tightly they’re still too loose.
