Salahi: Another Balloon Family
In a previous post I said that the Salahis had not met the President in the receiving line at the state dinner. I was going on a news blurb early in the process. I was in a kind of gregarious mood and didn’t have a lot of time to think about it. While on one level the idea of crashing a party like that and getting to meet a president seems intriguing, once again we have another prank taking up time in the news while issues of vital financial survival go unnoticed. Denials aside, whether they were crashing or not is something that will be determined by an investigation. The Secret Service dropped the ball as far as the guest list is concerned and shite rolls downhill. So whether they show up on Matt Lauer, Larry King or Oprah, damage control is going to be a difficult task. Regardless, while this is going on, we’re that much closer to the Copenhagen Accords which in conjunction with the climate change bills will negatively impact everyone’s finances; Codex Alimentarius is slated to go into effect at the end of this month significantly affecting how nutritional supplements are measured and dispensed; and the national wealthcare bills are still out there.
Really, the shelf life of foolishness in the news like the Balloon family and the Salahis should be about 18 minutes. There are a lot more important things we need to be concerned about rather than day after day of these micro-dramas.
