    Hesitance to admit the truth

When the AIDS crisis first broke in the alternative media of the day and among the medical workers who were trying to determine just what the hell was killing people and how, the Reagan administration and mainstream media delayed even admitting to a problem for several months. This wait and see politics delayed information getting out for far too long. A lot more people lost their lives because of misinformation and a lack of information about what was happening and how to protect themselves.

So fast forward 26 years and the truth is the economy started shrinking when the Iraq war started and we’ve been in a recession for 2-3 years. But the politicians and the media played the wait and see game again.

    Why?

Same questions. Is it because they’re being careful and want to have all the facts in front of them before they say something definite? Or did they deliberately not announce it to allow things to worsen? Well the mainstream media can be excused in one sense as they tend to repeat a lot of what comes from politicians.

Trust. Confidence. They’ve been taken away. But from your behavior they obviously weren’t all that important to begin with.
