Reverend Wichitard

In 1863, Lincoln said that the forefathers brought forth a new nation, not a new white nation and not a new white Christian nation. So if Pastor Mark of Spirit One Christian Center in Wichita, KS thinks I am sinning against God for voting for Obama, well, in the immortal words of Bart, “whatever, dude.” I’m sure if the Almighty has issues with my actions during life there are much more interesting things to discuss than my vote in this election. This kind of crap is not attractive. There are much more important things that churches need to be doing with their time rather than adding to the divisions in the country.

Fact: President-elect Obama is NOT Muslim, either by birth or faith.
Fact: And if he were, so?
Fact: Heavenly Father is PERFECTLY capable of expressing HIS OWN opinions.
Fact: I too am going to have much more to account for than how I voted, even if my vote WERE a sin, which it isn’t.
Opinion: Some folk can’t help being misinformed – open ears do NOT necessarily indicate an open mind.

  • “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” Philippians 4

“Let your gentleness be evident to all.” I am concerned with your delivery and judgement on President Obama.

Maybe your sign should have read, “Pray for our President. He is in need of God’s wisdom and strength.”

Condemnation and judgement is left for God to deal with and we have heard President Obama state that he has put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Max Lucado: “ā€œI’m genuinely hopeful about the next few years in the US. Our democracy has given the citizenry the right to select a leader and we have. Now is the time for us to pray for President-elect Obama and the next administration. I, along with a group of religious leaders, met with Senator Obama last June. We discussed a wide-range of faith-related issues. He expressed his belief in God, trust in Jesus and need for a Savior. I left the meeting with the feeling that I had met a man of genuine convictions. I hope you will join me as we pray for his wisdom, discernment and safety.

I also offer prayers of gratitude for President Bush. He has weathered one of the most difficult eras in American history. His personal conduct has been exemplary and devotion, inspirational. He has kept his pledge to keep America free from attack and
the Oval Office free from scandal. For that we can be grateful.ā€

    In His Love,
    HLJ
