I have decided that what I need is to be divorced. It appears that you get more respect after 40 being divorced vs. being single. It’s like if you haven’t been married or in an ice-agedly long relationship, people think something’s wrong. No one asks if you’re still divorced. But people can’t help tacking the word still in front of single.
